A Little History ...
Beaufort has been popular from the earliest days of America. One of its most famous residents, Edward Teach, more notoriously known as Blackbeard the pirate, frequented the area and reportedly lost his famous ship the Queen Ann's Revenge just off the coast of Beaufort. The local Maritime Museum features many artifacts and much history from Beaufort's colorful past. Today's Beaufort is renowned for it's small-town friendly village atmosphere, pristine water, beautiful beaches and a very relaxing yet enriching lifestyle.
